Woburn Public Schools Collective Bargaining Agreement

WOBURN, MA — Woburn Unionized Public School teachers receive a 2 per cent increase in a three-year contract each year that was ratified last week by the school board. Both sides and Mayor Scott Galvin praised the agreement, according to The Daily Times Chronicle. The agreement provides for additional preparation periods for primary school teachers and a retroactive increase of two per cent for this year. The new contract expires at the beginning of the 2020/21 school year. The two sides also agreed to consider a proposal to extend the preparation period for college teachers in the future. In 2016, the last time the teachers were awarded a new contract, the union conducted a work-by-law operation, with both sides fighting for an agreement.
